About the job

Working within the Ocean Division in Northern Europe, with its team members being located across the 4 sales companies Benelux, Mid Europe, Nordic and UK&I, the Regional Manager, Ocean Projects & Applications is responsible for leading, managing & developing a team of technical engineers and specialists to deliver support on Alfa Laval Ocean Division technology.  

Securing the success of our business in technical & complex quotations and projects is an important interface between our customers, distributors, salespeople, and the business units. Due to the nature of the role, there may be a requirement for frequent travel within Europe to meet with the team physically.

The successful candidate will need to be located in one of the Northern Europe sales companies, either Nordic, Hamburg, Benelux or UK & Ireland.

Key tasks:

  • Lead the team of technical and technological experts.

  • Monitor and continuously improve the applicable work processes and quality standards for the department, providing support towards the sales process for the marine divisions in each sales company.

  • Develop, motivate and coach the team to identify & secure the relevant product/application & industry competencies.

  • Implement the existing IT platforms and trainings needed in the P&A team.

  • Secure high-level support and develop sales and application concepts to our Sales Channels and Sales Companies teams.

  • Develop Product and Service trainings for Sales Companies and Channels in the region.

  • Identify and make proposals to central product portfolio managers in case of product gaps for trainings needed at the sales company level.

  • Manage the technical interface with product centres and central business units.

  • Guide the technical team giving the direction and ensuring that they are performing according to the plan.

  • Develop and secure technical engineering competencies in the P&A team including competitive designs.

  • Responsible for the P&A local training process.

What you know

To succeed in this position, you have:

  • Good technical engineering knowledge in combination with managerial experience within B2B technical sales support

  • Excellent English written and verbal communication is a pre-requisite. Other European or Scandinavian languages are an advantage.

  • A high level of digital competence, not only with Microsoft Office programs, but also with other communication and collaboration tools.

  • Commercial or Merchant Marine industry knowledge or experience is an advantage, as is knowledge of equipment relevant to the marine industry.

  • Due to the nature of the role, the ability & eligibility to travel between the Northern Europe sales companies (Benelux, Mid Europe, Nordic and UK&I) at short notice without travel restrictions is a requirement.
