About the job

As a Sales Support Intern, you will play an important role in supporting our Hydronic Solutions business by collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams across the organization. This internship offers hands-on exposure to technical sales support, application engineering, customer engagement, and business development within the HVAC and hydronics market.

In this role, you'll help support customer inquiries, equipment selection, proposal development, technical documentation, and sales administration activities while gaining experience with industry-leading technologies and solutions.

Based in Richmond, VA, this six-month internship provides valuable hands-on experience and may be extended another six months based on business needs, performance, and ongoing development opportunities.

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Develop knowledge of Alfa Laval products, hydronic systems, HVAC applications, and customer solutions.
  • Learn how to identify customer requirements and assist in recommending appropriate products and solutions.
  • Support the review of customer specifications and assist with equipment sizing and selection using Alfa Laval software tools.
  • Contribute to the preparation of quotations, technical proposals, product documentation, and supporting materials.
  • Assist in responding to customer inquiries related to product information, applications, order status, and technical documentation.
  • Gain experience using CRM systems and sales enablement tools to maintain accurate customer and project information.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Service, Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Support teams to help deliver timely and effective solutions.
  • Participate in technical discussions, product training, and customer support activities.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts and contribute to resolving customer questions and technical issues.
  • Learn and follow established sales and business development processes while building a strong foundation in technical sales support.
  • Gain practical experience in a customer-focused, collaborative, and innovative environment.

At Alfa Laval, we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive and dynamic workplace that values diverse perspectives and experiences. While we typically welcome applicants from all locations, currently, we are prioritizing candidates who reside in the US or have an established presence in the area. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
