About The Job

Execute selected service of standard products such as High-Speed Separator, Decanter and Plate Heat Exchanger. This includes service, installation, testing, repairing, and maintaining as well as condition monitoring and audits on products, modules and systems at customer site. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute maintenance, service, and minor repairs on Alfa Laval standard products at customer sites.

  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve technical issues on standard equipment promptly and effectively.

  • Prepare service jobs in advance to ensure tasks are completed in the shortest possible time.

  • Provide on‑site supervision and technical guidance during installation and commissioning activities.

  • Study and understand new equipment, solutions, and technologies to perform commissioning and troubleshooting independently.

  • Follow up on all actions and commitments made to customers to ensure high customer satisfaction.

  • Prepare accurate service reports on-site and obtain customer acknowledgment/signature.

  • Update service‑execution IT systems with all relevant data, job details, time reporting, and case information.

  • Identify and report unsafe practices, incidents, or near misses and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Capture Installed Base (IB) information on customer sites and communicate potential sales opportunities to the sales organization.

  • Provide proactive recommendations for spare parts and service solutions to customers.

  • Perform service activities at Alfa Laval Service Centers when required.

Technical Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, including understanding of rotating equipment, seals, bearings, alignment, and mechanical fault analysis.

    Industrial maintenance experience, particularly with process equipment used in food, beverage, chemical, marine, energy, or manufacturing industries.

  • Strong electrical knowledge, including understanding of power systems, sensors, actuators, wiring diagrams, and electrical fault isolation.

  • Good automation and control systems knowledge, such as PLC basics, instrumentation, HMI use, and troubleshooting of control loops.

  • Hands‑on troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (mechanical, electrical, P&ID).

  • Experience in equipment commissioning, testing, calibration, and performance verification.

  • Familiarity with industrial safety standards and safe working practices.

Competencies & Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially under time pressure.

  • Capable of supervising contractors and coordinating activities during equipment installation.

  • Fast learner with the ability to study and master new equipment and technologies independently.

  • Good communication and customer‑handling skills with a service‑minded attitude.

  • Good English skills (written and spoken) for technical reporting and daily communication.

  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Willingness to travel frequently and work on customer sites under varying conditions.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering fields.

  • 2–4 years of field service experience in industrial equipment, machinery, or related industries (preferably with rotating equipment, pumps, separators, heat exchangers, or automation systems).

  • Valid driving license is an advantage.
