Do you want to work on advanced marine pumping and control systems on board vessels all over the world? Join Framo Nederland as a Service / Electrical Engineer and carry out maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning and repair work on FRAMO pumping systems. You will work directly with customers on board, keeping critical equipment running safely and reliably while representing Framo's high service standards.
About Framo
Framo is part of Alfa Laval. Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact on our colleagues, partners, customers and society. Together, we're pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping.
As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.
Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, commissioning and service activities on marine equipment and systems, including FRAMO pumping systems.
Prepare service jobs for efficient execution in accordance with established procedures and service standards.
Travel worldwide to vessels, shipyards and customer locations, including sailing with vessels when required.
Diagnose electrical and control system faults, as well as hydraulic and mechanical issues, and provide effective technical solutions.
Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with company and customer requirements.
Document findings, actions and recommendations in detailed service reports, and register your working hours and expenses.
Obtain customer sign-off and maintain professional communication throughout service assignments.
Provide technical advice to customers and feedback to internal stakeholders to support continuous improvement.
Maintain a high level of product knowledge and technical competence.
How you grow into the role
You start with visual inspections of FRAMO pumping systems, automation, hydraulic control systems and hydraulic oil quality. This work mainly takes place in the ports of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Antwerp, with jobs lasting 1 to 3 days. As you gain experience, you will carry out maintenance and repairs on your own at customer locations all over the world, from the North Cape to Cape Town and from Ireland to Türkiye. This includes both scheduled maintenance and fixing unexpected breakdowns, with assignments lasting 1 to 2 weeks.
A technical education at MBO level, preferably in electrical engineering.
A strong focus on service and customers.
An interest in pumping systems and shipping.
Good English, both spoken and written.
Willingness to travel worldwide and to sail with vessels when required.
Flexibility: no 9-to-5 mentality, and reasonable availability on weekends and public holidays by arrangement.
A positive, enthusiastic attitude. You enjoy working independently and handle responsibility well.
Preferably based in South Holland (Zuid-Holland).
A one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent position.
A company car, which you may also use privately.
A laptop and mobile phone with a company subscription.
8.5% holiday allowance.
25 + 2 vacation days, based on a 37.5-hour working week.
Participation in Framo's pension scheme and life insurance, with no employee contribution.
Annual reimbursement of your health insurance deductible (eigen risico), pro rata in your first year.
Working days of 7.5 hours, with a flexible start time between 7:00 and 9:30 in consultation with your team leader.
A dynamic workplace in an international environment.
