About the job
We are looking for a commercially driven and strategically minded Portfolio Manager to lead the development and growth of our Diaphragm Valve business on a global scale. In this role, you will combine market creation, portfolio ownership, and cross-functional execution. You will work closely with sales organizations, key customers, and internal stakeholders to identify growth opportunities, shape market positioning, and drive initiatives that strengthen our competitive footprint. You will play a central role in building momentum in a focused product category, defining where we compete, how we win, and how we translate opportunities into tangible business results.
Key responsibilities:
Driving business growth and market development
Identify and prioritize target markets, segments, and strategic accounts
Develop and drive market entry and expansion strategies across regions
Engage with Sales Companies, partners, and key customers to build pipeline and momentum
Shape market positioning and strategic direction
Analyze market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape
Engage early with end-users, EPCs, and key influencers to understand specification drivers
Translate insights into clear priorities, positioning, and growth initiatives
Lead portfolio execution and cross-functional alignment
Coordinate with Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and regional teams
Drive progress on key initiatives, ensuring alignment and execution across functions
Contribute to portfolio development based on customer value and business potential
Own launches and commercial activation
Lead or support product launches, ensuring strong positioning and effective activation
Develop sales enablement tools that support value-based customer dialogue
Strengthen commercial messaging by translating technical features into clear customer benefits
Engage senior stakeholders
Prepare and present updates on progress, risks, and opportunities
Act as a key contributor to the strategic direction of the Diaphragm Valve business
What you know
Experience from an international B2B environment working with technical products or engineered solutions
Background in areas such as business development, strategic sales, portfolio or program management
Proven ability to drive growth and build business in a focused domain
Strong commercial mindset combined with solid technical understanding
Ability to translate market insights into clear actions and priorities

At Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, providing you the flexibility to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. This position is at our Kolding office, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 40 – 60 days per year.
