Process Engineer Power Market

About the job

Power industries put a high focus on saving energy and reducing their CO2 emissions, like we do at Alfa Laval. To serve our customers the best, we need to deliver an expertise, and this is where the Application Engineer excels.

The Power industry market is an international business, and you will work both with colleagues and customers all over the world.

Your role will be to:

• Secure Power industry process expertise and leadership for our High Efficiency Heat Exchangers product portfolio.
• Review and discuss with our Power customers their process to position our heat exchanger portfolio
• Develop an industry specific value proposition for our Heat exchangers portfolio, leveraging from your deep understanding of Power sector processes (TEG, MEG, AGRU, SRU, LNG, etc).
• Bring hands-on experience working with EPC contractors, engineering consultants, and end customers on Power projects.
• Monitor trends and developments in some specific industries, covering legislation, technology and competitor intelligence
• Develop guidelines for the smartest design related to this application
• Support Sales companies with expertise and customer meetings
• Share application knowledge via internal and external training, webinars and conferences.

You will work in close cooperation with the Sales Companies as well as with the Marketing team/ Product Management.

You report to the Global Sales Manager in BU WCT, and this position will be based Pune (India). Some travels should be expected approximately 15-20 days a year. Alfa Laval offers a hybrid work model with the opportunity to work from home when it fits with your tasks.

Who you are

You should have relevant Power sector and EPC project experience, with the ability to review customer processes, identify pain points and recommend optimization opportunities through our heat exchanger portfolio, technically support our sales teams on tenders from an application perspective, and identify new markets and opportunities within Power industry.

We are looking for a highly motivated person with a passion for developing and improving technical processes and solutions for our customers. You can build strong networks, working cross borders, with people on all levels and cultures. You are target-oriented and have a creative and open-minded approach to problem solving.

What you know

You have a solid engineering or technical background and proven experience in Power industry with experience working in a global environment. You are a good team player, and you have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Fluency in English is required.

What you can be?

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering is a must.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience, preferably in a global / multinational environment, with strong expertise in process engineering for EPC projects.
• Extensive experience in proposal engineering within the Power industry, with a strong understanding of preparing technical and commercial proposals for EPC projects.
• A go-getter, taking initiative to identify and drive various initiatives.
• Ability to work in sync with multiple global stakeholders.
• An eye for detail
