About Alfa Laval Test & Training Centre
The Alfa Laval Test and Training Centre is a springboard into the future. Located in Aalborg, Denmark, it is a core component of our research and development. It is also a site for collaboration with industry partners and research institutes. The Centre has a 2800 m2 testing space, where we test ideas, equipment, applications, and process lines on the scale of an oceangoing ship. The Centre works with various fuels and technologies, including traditional and low-sulfur fuels, natural gas, methanol, biofuels etc.
Do you want to work in a state-of-the-art facility that simulates the conditions of an oceangoing ship? Are you passionate about developing and testing innovative solutions for the marine industry? Do you have experience with control design and implementation using PLC and HMI/SCADA software? If yes, then you might be the System Control Engineer we are looking for.
About the job
As our new System Control Engineer, you will be part of a small team of test- and development engineers working closely towards ensuring successful tests and daily operation of the systems in our Test Centre. The work environment is “down to earth” and a good sense of humor is welcome. Based on your preferences, your daily work will be divided between desktop and hands-on work. Your main task will be to design, implement, and maintain control systems for the Test Centre - from initial process diagrams to operational systems. This includes:
Development of control strategies, possibly based on dynamic simulations.
Specification of required instrumentation, such as sensors and actuators.
Specification of control panels.
Preparation and maintenance of operational philosophies.
Development and maintenance of PLC and HMI/SCADA software.
Participation in tests.
Data acquisition and generation of test reports for stakeholders and authorities.
What you know
Successful candidates for this role will possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in control engineering, process engineering, or a related field. An in-depth understanding of process automation and control strategies is essential, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in PLC and HMI/SCADA software development and testing. Moreover, a broad understanding of IT systems, including network design, working with databases, web development, etc., would be advantageous for potential candidates.
Who you are
At a personal level, you thrive working in an environment with changing priorities while maintaining an eye on the details and securing progress. You are structured and process-oriented and do not mind lending a helping hand to a colleague from time to time. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a proactive and collaborative attitude. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, are expected.
What we offer
We offer you a challenging and rewarding position in a dynamic and international environment. You will have the opportunity to work with innovative technologies and contribute to the development of sustainable solutions for the marine industry. You will also benefit from:
A friendly and supportive team.
Continuous learning and development opportunities.
A pension plan and health insurance.
A flexible work schedule and a healthy work-life balance.
