About the job
We are looking for a detail-oriented and service-driven Leave of Absence Administrator (LOA) to support and enhance the administration of our health and welfare benefit programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring employees and retirees receive accurate, timely support while maximizing the performance of our third-party vendors.
You will serve as a key point of contact for benefits-related inquiries, manage leave of absence processes, and help drive continuous improvement in how our programs are delivered. This position requires strong collaboration, problem-solving, and a focus on delivering high-quality employee experiences.
This is a hybrid opportunity based in Houston, TX.
As a part of the team, you will:
Assist with the administration of health and welfare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FMLA, wellness programs, legal plans, EAP, and retiree medical
Respond to employee and retiree inquiries related to benefits and Workers’ Compensation, redirecting to appropriate vendors as needed
Investigate and resolve complex issues that third-party vendors are unable to resolve independently
Maintain accurate benefits data and reporting within the HRIS system
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate activities and events related to health and welfare programs
Maintain and update all benefits-related resource documents and communications
Support leave of absence administration, including FMLA and disability processes
Partner with vendors to ensure service level expectations are met and continuously improved
Identify opportunities to enhance processes and improve the employee experience
Ensure compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and company standards
What you know:
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred), and/or:
1–3 years of experience in benefits administration, leave of absence, or HR operations
Working knowledge of health and welfare benefits and FMLA regulations
Experience working with HRIS systems and benefits data reporting
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and customer service orientation
Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
