About the job

We are looking for a detail-oriented and service-driven Leave of Absence Administrator (LOA) to support and enhance the administration of our health and welfare benefit programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring employees and retirees receive accurate, timely support while maximizing the performance of our third-party vendors.

You will serve as a key point of contact for benefits-related inquiries, manage leave of absence processes, and help drive continuous improvement in how our programs are delivered. This position requires strong collaboration, problem-solving, and a focus on delivering high-quality employee experiences.

This is a hybrid opportunity based in Houston, TX.

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Assist with the administration of health and welfare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FMLA, wellness programs, legal plans, EAP, and retiree medical

  • Respond to employee and retiree inquiries related to benefits and Workers’ Compensation, redirecting to appropriate vendors as needed

  • Investigate and resolve complex issues that third-party vendors are unable to resolve independently

  • Maintain accurate benefits data and reporting within the HRIS system

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate activities and events related to health and welfare programs

  • Maintain and update all benefits-related resource documents and communications

  • Support leave of absence administration, including FMLA and disability processes

  • Partner with vendors to ensure service level expectations are met and continuously improved

  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes and improve the employee experience

  • Ensure compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and company standards

What you know:

You have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred), and/or:

  • 1–3 years of experience in benefits administration, leave of absence, or HR operations

  • Working knowledge of health and welfare benefits and FMLA regulations

  • Experience working with HRIS systems and benefits data reporting

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service orientation

  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
