The position / About the Job:

The Factory Manager is responsible for the performance and development of Distribution Center, Warehouse and third-party operations. The role is dedicated to ensuring reliable and seamless deliveries every day, everywhere. To succeed the Factory manager drives end-to-end supply chain excellence for spare parts and finished goods by fostering a customer-focused culture, high-performing teams and efficient warehouse operations. 

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Performance

  • Oversee all DC operations including safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Set, monitor, and follow up on overall targets for the DC and all units/functions.
  • Develop and implement the 6M Operational Plan.
  • Manage the DC’s P&L and financial performance.
  • Define and implement the Vital Few / Key Metrics for the DC.
  • Drive the development of the DC and its people, ensuring the right resources (equipment, competence) are in place for long-term sustainable results.

Compliance & Governance

  • Implement and uphold Alfa Laval policies, standards, processes, values, and culture.
  • Serve as Site Manager for the Alfa Laval Talegaon Warehouse.
  • Chair the local management team; provide the organisation with relevant and timely information.
  • Act as Alfa Laval contact point for site shared functions: HR, Finance, EHS, Real Estate, and Legal.
  • Perform Alfa Laval Performance System audits within the DC and implement corrective actions where required.

Stakeholder & Supply Chain

  • Foster effective cooperation with all internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and 3PL partners.
  • Ensure supply chain processes are implemented, maintained, and continuously improved.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects, audits, and footprint initiatives.
  • Serve as active member of both the Global Parts, Distribution and Logistics Management Team and the India Operations Management Team.
  • Act as local Alfa Laval contact person and 3PL contact window.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, or a related field — or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 10 years’ managerial experience in distribution, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills across teams in a multitude of settings.
  • Experience in change management, project management, and Lean / continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong financial acumen and P&L management experience.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English

Reports to : VP Operations - Parts Distribution & Logistics

Location : Approx 3 days in Dapodi & 2 days in Talegaon

Authority Level

  • Financial authority to execute within the DC’s P&L costing update framework.
  • Authority to break down overall DC targets into unit/function-level targets, follow up, and take corrective action.
  • Decision-making authority as defined by the agreed Operational Plan.
  • Authority to halt operations within the DC in cases of safety, quality, or environmental deviation.
  • Authority to conduct ALPS audits and implement corrective actions.
  • Authority to delegate tasks and set salaries within defined parameters.
  • Investment authority as delegated by VP of Operations
  • Local management contact for Parts, Distribution and Logistics real estate and the Talegaon facility.
