Alfa Laval UK&I are currently looking for a Field Sales Account Manager to join our team.

Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping. As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build careers too.

About the Role

We are recruiting a Field Sales Manager to join our Service Sales Team within the UK Food & Pharma Division, with a focus on separation technology across the Midlands and South of England. Ideally, candidates will be based within this region.

Your primary responsibility is to grow after sales and service revenue by developing existing customer relationships and identifying new opportunities. You will work closely with the Capital Sales Team to maximise market potential and deliver a superior customer experience.

As part of the Service Sales Team, you will collaborate with the Business Unit Manager, sales colleagues, and service operations teams to realise our growth ambitions.

This is an external, home‑based role requiring a blend of traditional field sales activity and digital collaboration. You will spend approximately 80% of your time in the field, with regular travel across the region and the wider UK, including frequent overnight stays.

You will be responsible for driving service sales growth through effective key account management, service contract development, coordination of service activities and proactive customer engagement. A critical part of the role is supporting our digital transformation and delivering a compelling value proposition that strengthens customer loyalty and drives long‑term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and deliver agreed strategies, goals, priorities, and activities in alignment with the BU Service Sales Manager.

  • Prepare and maintain structured Sales Plans.

  • Follow established sales processes and guidelines to promote and sell Alfa Laval products and services.

  • Provide accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts for sales volumes and gross margin.

  • Maintain strong market presence through customer visits, meetings, and interactions, focusing on understanding customer needs and communicating value.

  • Develop value‑based quotations that reflect customer requirements, highlighting unique selling points, and collaborate with Technical and Inside Sales Teams on follow‑up.

  • Use CRM tools (Dynamics 365 or similar) to log all customer‑related sales activities consistently and with high quality.

  • Manage customer relationships from both a sales and operational perspective across multiple communication channels.

  • Work closely with the Capital Sales Team to identify and develop growth opportunities.

  • Support the preparation, execution, and fulfilment of service contracts.

Who You Are

  • A proactive, hunter‑minded salesperson who thrives on identifying new opportunities, opening doors, and driving growth in both new and existing accounts.

  • Someone who is energised by being out in the market, uncovering customer needs, and converting opportunities into tangible results.

  • Resilient, tenacious and ambitious, with the ability to push through obstacles and maintain momentum in a competitive environment.

  • A self‑starter who takes ownership of territory development and consistently seeks ways to expand Alfa Laval’s service footprint.

What You Know

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Preferred knowledge of separation technologies, including:

    • Decanters

    • Belt Thickeners

  • Competent in Microsoft applications: Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and CRM systems such as Dynamics 365.

  • Strong business acumen with high attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with the Food, Pharma, Dairy, Beverage, Waste and Water Treatment industries is an advantage.

What we can offer

  • Alfa Laval UK&I currently provides a wide range of benefits, schemes, and initiatives to our employees including:

  • Annual Bonus

  • Company vehicle + fuel card

  • Holiday entitlement of 25 days + Bank holidays

  • Simply Health – Health cash plan available to enter worth over £2500 annually

  • Training and Career Development potential

  • Cycle to work scheme

  • Tech scheme benefit
