About the job

As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in providing overall support for repair and reconditioning work for both our external and internal customers. You will have the opportunity to  function with minimal supervision to provide quotations to our sales force, prioritize and coordinate repairs, manage each repair order, continually seeking ways to improve repair processes and techniques. Communication will play a big role in your job by contacting customers and internal areas with a focus on a successful experience for our clients. Currently, this is an on-site opportunity located in Des Moines.

As a part of the team, you will:  

  • Prioritize and coordinate the overall flow of repair and reconditioning projects with Team Leaders and Management, focusing on improving utilization and throughput
  • Maintain production schedules and assist with regularly scheduled production meetings
  • Research customer equipment in proprietary systems to confirm accuracy of parts and lead time
  • Create job packets for repair and reconditioning projects with applicable drawings, quality plans and checklists, scan sheets, and EHS related documentation
  • Create and formalize repair quotes to end customers and internal Sales teams
  • Review of shop quotes before pricing and finalization
  • Perform tasks within proprietary applications in MRP and Lotus Notes systems (order parts and expedite as needed, create PO’s for outsource operations, occasionally schedule freight, etc.)
  • Interact and communicate repair information to shop, end customers, and sales personnel
  • Assist Service Center team to meet published baseline measurements and KPI’s
  • Manage job costs
  • Act as primary backup for Order Coordinator as needed
  • Maintain applicable inventory reports, records, and proprietary software.
  • Coordinate and assist in the completion and documentation of all ACT warranty claims
  • Positive participation in meetings and improvement initiatives

Main job is in an office environment with approximately 25% of the time in a machine shop & welding environment where there is the possibility of coming into contact with residues of customers’ products.

May have occasion to move parts up to 50 lbs.

What you know: 

You have a High School diploma or equivalent, strong written and verbal communication skills, a respectful approach to working with others, the ability to travel occasionally, and prior experience with: 

  • Five years hands-on experience with repairing/reconditioning in a manufacturing, job shop or customer service environment desirable.
  • Experience with ​Project Management and/or Microsoft Suite desirable.
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate ability to perform effectively within a team environment
  • Some understanding of machining and welding techniques
  • Ability to work within stressful situations
  • Fundamental knowledge of standard word processing software and spreadsheets
