Alfa Laval is looking for a Demand Planner

Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping. As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build careers too.

About the job

Heat exchangers are vital to the global energy transition, and as the world’s leading manufacturer, Alfa Laval delivers technologies that are up to 50% more energy-efficient than traditional solutions, helping industries reduce energy use today while scaling the clean technologies needed for net zero. Each year, Alfa Laval enables customers to cut energy demand by 100 GW and reduce carbon emissions equivalent to an entire country like Sweden. Business Unit Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers (BU GPHE) is a global market leader, generating nearly €1 billion in revenue and bringing together 1,500+ experts across the full value chain—from sales and service to R&D and operations—across key hubs in Sweden, China, India, and the United States.

We are looking for a Demand Planner for our Business Unit Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers to be the key driver in capturing and managing the market demand signals, by which the organization aligns supply chain and company resources. Demand Planning is part of our established S&OP process with several various stakeholders within the organization and across our three business divisions. As Demand Planner you will play a vital role in the success of our business.

Key responsibilities for this role entail:

  • Drive and develop the monthly Demand Planning process.

  • As part of the global S&OP team, work closely with the different stakeholders of the S&OP process (Sales, Supply Chain, Product Management, Local Planners, etc.) to understand drivers behind product and demand planning.

  • Analyze and challenge Sales and Product Management forecasts, identify demand trends and drive actions for improving forecast accuracy and reduce bias.

  • Manage forecast consensus activities to support the company’s business objectives by reconciling top-down strategic forecasts with bottom-up input from central, regional and local teams.

  • Track and analyze global sales performance to identify market trends, opportunities, identifying gaps and areas for improvement.

  • Contribute to strategies and initiatives aimed at optimizing inventory levels while maintaining service level targets and cost efficiency.

  • Act as a “bridge” and facilitate the dialogue to ensure alignment between Sales and Operations and support the organization in all stages of the Demand Planning process.

  • Contribute actively to portfolio planning, S&OP governance, performance management, and planning capability development across the organization.

  • Provide reports and insights to support the S&OP process decision making within the organization.

The position is based in Lund, Sweden and you will report to the Business Controller in BU GPHE. This role requires up to 30 days of international travel per year.

Who are you?

We are looking for a team player who can analyze and interpret complex data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights. You are both strategic and detail oriented, you have a clear interest in understanding the business, and you can seek relevant information and use that input for bringing results and clarity to the organization.

You have a high degree of energy and resilience; you like to challenge and inspire people, and change management is part of your day. You have the ability to build a strong network and trust with different key stakeholders, and you have very strong communication skills in both verbal and written form.

What you know

You have a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain management, Business, Economics or a related field, and you have several years of experience from working with planning, analyzing data and identifying trends. You have a strong strategy and business understanding to anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs with relevant solutions. You have advanced Microsoft Office skills, and you have worked with demand planning software (e.g. SO99+) and other statistical analysis tools. You are comfortable exploring new solutions and driving continuous improvements and initiatives in an international environment.

What's in it for you?

We can offer you a challenging role in an international team, and an open and friendly work environment. We focus on performance and support personal and professional development through well-established people, processes, and opportunities.
