About the Role
We are looking for an IoT Backend Developer to join our team, which develops and maintains IoT and automation solutions that connect Alfa Laval products to the cloud. Our mission is to enable remote support, data visualization, and performance analytics, improving efficiency, compliance, and sustainable solutions for our customers.
You will primarily collaborate with the team to develop and maintain software for our gateways, ensuring performance, user friendliness, stability, and cybersecurity.
You’ll be part of an agile team (approx. 10 members) working closely with other IoT teams across Sweden, Denmark, and India. The team includes a product owner, tech lead, developers, designer, and tester.
Your work will be implemented, deployed, and used in real products across industries such as clean energy, water purification, food production, and pharmaceuticals. Here, you’ll get to see your code in action – letting your efforts make a difference for our customers every single day.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and optimize backend software for gateways deployed across diverse Alfa Laval products and industries.
Collaborate with tech lead and cross-functional teams to deliver robust, modular, and scalable IoT solutions.
Ensure high standards of cybersecurity, stability, and performance in harsh industrial environments.
Contribute to the design and implementation of containerized solutions (Docker) for various hardware platforms.
Support cloud integration (Azure) for device management, data collection, and remote updates.
Participate in agile planning, estimation, and team-driven workload management.

You are an independent, quick learner with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. You thrive in a collaborative team environment, are structured and driven, and can see the big picture while managing multiple tasks. You are motivated to develop yourself and your colleagues.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
5–6 years of professional experience in backend development.
Strong programming skills, preferably in Python (C# experience is a plus).
Hands-on experience with Linux.
Experience with Docker/containerization for hardware-specific deployments.
Experience with Azure or equivalent cloud platforms
Ability to quickly understand and solve complex technical problems.
Experience in industrial IoT is a strong plus, but not essential if your coding skills are exceptional.
