At Alfa Laval, we always go that extra mile to overcome the toughest challenges. Our driving force is to accelerate success for our customers, people, and planet. You can only achieve that by having dedicated people with a curious mind. Curiosity is the spark behind great ideas. And great ideas drive progress.
As a member of our automation development team, you thrive in a truly diverse and inclusive workplace based on care and empowerment. You are here to make a difference. Constantly building bridges to the future with sustainable solutions that have an impact on our planet’s most urgent problems. Making the world a better place. Every day.
About the job
In this role, you’ll be part of our agile development team in Lund, building an IoT and automation software that connects Alfa Laval’s products to the cloud. Side by side with developers, a designer, a tester, and a product owner, you’ll work hands-on with the software that runs on our gateways — enabling remote support, performance insights, and sustainable solutions for our customers.
Here, you will:
Develop and maintain software for our connected gateways
Ensure performance, security, and usability in real-world products
Work hands-on with Linux, Python, Docker, and cloud pipelines
Collaborate closely with other developers, designers, and testers in an agile setup
Your work won’t just stay on a screen. It will be implemented, deployed, and used in real products across industries such as clean energy, water purification, food production, and pharmaceuticals. Here, you’ll get to see your code in action – letting your efforts make a difference for our customers every single day.
Who you are
You are a builder at heart, someone who enjoys solving problems with smart and creative code. You bring around 4–5 years of experience, preferably from larger or complex environments, and you’re ready to stand behind your solutions while staying curious to learn from others.
You care about purpose and the bigger picture - making technology that contributes to a more sustainable future. At the same time, you enjoy working closely with others. Being part of a diverse, supportive team gives you energy, and you know how to balance focus and quality with life outside of work.
What you know
Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent vocational training
Hands-on experience with Linux
Strong Python skills (other scripting languages welcome, C# is a plus)
Experience with Docker
Basic knowledge of Azure or equivalent cloud
What’s in it for you
We offer a challenging position in an open and friendly environment where we help each other to develop and create value. Your work will have a true impact on Alfa Laval’s future success. Here, you will:
Be part of developing advanced automation solutions with global impact
Work in an environment where collaboration and creativity are encouraged
Grow your skills — from hands-on coding to automation, DevOps, and cloud
Build an international network in a truly global company
Enjoy flexibility, work-life balance, and the satisfaction of seeing your code at work in real-world products
