Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the job

We are currently seeking a technically proficient and commercially driven Regional Sales Manager to join our Life Science team, with a focus on the biotech and pharmaceutical market across the Northeast U.S. region. This is a strategic, customer-facing role that blends technical insight with business acumen—ideal for someone who understands complex process technologies and thrives on building relationships that drive revenue growth.

You’ll be responsible for developing new business, managing key accounts, and promoting high-value solutions through direct engagement and selective external sales channels. Your ability to connect with scientifically and technically sophisticated stakeholders, understand their process needs, and position Alfa Laval’s technologies as the best-fit solution will be key to your success.

This is a remote role averaging 50% travel across the Northeast. Preference is given to candidates located near major biotech hubs such as Boston, Philadelphia, or the D.C. metro area.

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Drive sales growth of high-speed separators and related technologies (e.g., decanters, membranes, evaporation systems)

  • Engage directly with customers to understand their technical needs and present tailored solutions

  • Collaborate with internal experts to develop value-driven proposals

  • Identify and qualify new prospects, especially in emerging biotech applications

  • Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to a highly educated customer base

  • Maintain CRM data and contribute to pipeline development and forecasting

  • Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer challenges

  • Follow established sales processes and guidelines to promote Alfa Laval products and services

  • Analyze market insights and customer buying behavior to develop strategic sales plans

  • Actively manage leads, customer grids, and proactive planning tools

  • Develop value quotes that reflect customer needs and highlight our unique selling points

What you know:

You have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Biotech preferred), Chemistry, BioChemistry, or equivalent experience, and:

  • 3–5 years of experience in engineering, technical sales, product management, or process development—preferably in biotech, pharma, or life sciences

  • Familiarity with high-speed separation technologies or single-use systems is a plus

  • Experience working with biotech manufacturing processes or process development teams

  • Proven success in customer-facing roles such as sales, applications engineering, or technical support

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage confidently with scientific and technical stakeholders

  • Proficiency in CRM tools and data-driven decision-making

  • A passion for solving complex technical problems and helping customers succeed

  • Willingness to travel 50% across the Northeast U.S.

We care about diversity, inclusion and equity in our recruitment processes. We also believe behavioral traits can provide important insights into a candidate's fit to a role. To help us achieve this we apply Pymetrics assessments, and upon application you will be invited to play the assessment games.

What’s in it for you?

At Alfa Laval, we carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine your total compensation package. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job, background, skills, and experience to get it right.  The base salary for this role is typically $100,000 to $120,000.

Alfa Laval is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce. All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, or business need, without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
