Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Buyer / Operational Buyer to manage the procurement of bought-out items for E&S Projects. The role involves sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, and ensuring timely delivery of mechanical and electrical components from local and global suppliers while meeting project requirements and customer expectations in terms of Quality, Cost, and Delivery.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical understanding, supplier management capabilities, and experience in project procurement of industrial equipment such as valves, instruments, pneumatic components, panels, cables, and other mechanical/electrical items.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Strategic Sourcing

  • Review project specifications and assess sourcing feasibility.
  • Collaborate with Design and Quality teams to identify and define quality requirements.
  • Share datasheets, specifications, and technical requirements with suppliers and obtain quotations.
  • Conduct supplier scouting, evaluation, qualification, and onboarding activities.
  • Obtain technical approvals from Design and E&S teams.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare techno-commercial comparison sheets (QCES) for management approval.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with quality, delivery, and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage supplier compliance and contractual obligations.

Order Management & Delivery Follow-up

  • Place purchase orders as per approved project requirements.
  • Communicate purchase orders and project-specific requirements to suppliers.
  • Obtain order confirmations and proactively resolve delivery concerns.
  • Track and review schedules for critical project components.
  • Escalate supplier-related delays and risks to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate inspection documentation and quality certificates.
  • Manage corrective actions and replacements for non-conforming materials.
  • Ensure on-time delivery aligned with project milestones.
  • Handle direct deliveries to project sites, including order amendments, packing lists, invoicing coordination, and logistics management.

Supply Chain & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate actively in ALPS initiatives and ISO compliance activities.
  • Support inbound and outbound logistics operations.
  • Drive inventory optimization and reduction initiatives.
  • Contribute to process improvement and procurement excellence programs.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
