About the job

Chemical Engineer Student Assistant – Agro & Protein System

  • Søborg
  • Part time

Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water, and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the job

Join our Agro & Protein Engineering team at Alfa Laval, where you’ll support the design of systems and plants that shape the future of food and protein processing. As a Student Assistant, you’ll collaborate with Process, Mechanical, and Design Engineers on both internal and customer projects.

Your tasks will vary, offering you a broad perspective on engineering work:

  • Support engineering activities such as generating mass and energy balances, preparing equipment lists, and drafting specifications.

  • Work on P&IDs and functional design specifications for processing plants and systems.

  • Participate in commissioning and performance tests and assist in troubleshooting.

  • Help with project documentation, from technical drawings to manuals.

  • Contribute to improving project information management by creating databases or SharePoint solutions.

The position starts on June 16, 2025, and offers you the chance to gain hands-on experience in a truly international and collaborative environment.

Who are you

You’re someone who enjoys learning by doing and thrives in a collaborative team environment. You take initiative, are well-organized, and have a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.

You communicate clearly, adapt easily to different cultural contexts, and enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds. You’re also curious and driven, always looking for ways to improve and contribute to your team’s success.

What you know

  • You are a Chemical Engineer currently studying your Master’s degree. You have at least one year left in your studies.

  • You have a strong interest in process design, and ideally some academic or hands-on experience in this area.

  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
