We’re looking for
Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water, and shipping.
As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.
About the job
As our new Development Engineer, you will be responsible for driving new product development activities, with a particular focus on projects with low technology readiness level (TRL), including demonstrations and pilots. You will be involved primarily throughout the initial phases of the development cycle – from conceptual design and process calculations to test planning, execution, and analysis.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Take on informal project management tasks – managing hours, finances, and deliverables for smaller projects (less than 20 % of your time).
Perform process calculations to support the development of new products.
Apply your expertise in mechanical, strength, and corrosion analysis to ensure robust designs.
Use MATLAB and Python for programming, tool development, and data analysis.
Plan, execute, and analyse tests to validate new concepts.
At Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, providing you the flexibility to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. This position is at our Aalborg office, with an expected travel of 10 – 20 days per year.

You are adaptable and resilient, able to navigate change and uncertainty with a positive attitude. Proactive by nature, you take initiative and anticipate challenges before they arise. You value clear and thorough documentation, understanding its importance in sharing knowledge and ensuring project success.
