About the job 

As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for executing and providing technical support to Alfa Laval’s industrial customers, including commissioning, installing, testing, repairing and maintaining industrial separators, decanters, and heat exchangers.

As a part of the team, you will:  

  • Execute and provide technical support to Alfa Laval’s industrial customers, including commissioning, installing, testing, repairing and maintaining industrial separators, decanters, and heat exchangers.
  • Perform condition monitoring and energy audits on products, modules and systems at customer site.
  • Troubleshoot, investigate and resolve technical problems.
  • Train customers on product features.
  • Communicate sales opportunities to sales organization.
  • Prepare service and product related documentation.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians.
  • Remote work authorized from anywhere in the continental US.
  • Required Travel: 50-75% travel to customer sites in various US cities/states. Must be able to respond to emergency storm duty and must be available to work overtime (including during the night) and on weekends as needed to meet business demands. Must have a valid driver's license.

What you know: 

Required education, experience, and skills: Position requires an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or any position in which the required experience was gained. In the alternative, the employer will accept 4 years of experience in the job offered or any position in which the required experience was gained.

Experience must include 2 years of experience inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and industrial elements of industrial separators, decanters, or heat exchangers; 2 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing PLCs or similar industrial processors; 2 years of experience preparing service and product related documentation; 2 years of experience training users on industrial equipment; and 1 year of experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and industrial machinery in the field.
