In the final phase of the internship, there is an opportunity to work as service technicians on various ships around Europe, providing broad exposure and insight into the maritime industry.
What do the tasks involve?
In the Test Center, during the first phase of the internship, you will be involved in a range of technical and collaborative tasks, including:
Understanding the systems of technical installations – examining the construction, operation, maintenance, and upkeep of systems.
Operation of systems and technical installations.
Troubleshooting instruments and equipment.
Participation in tests, for example, combustion tests on boilers/motors, freshwater generation, emission cleaning, including documentation and calculations for these tests.
Construction or assembly of electrical panels.
Collaboration with marine engineers, engineers, blacksmiths, and electricians.
In the final phase of your internship as a service technician, you will work closely with experienced technicians and develop your skills through practical experience on ships across Europe. Your tasks will include:
Troubleshooting and adjusting of burner combustion.
Troubleshooting of mechanical burner components.
Electrical troubleshooting on boiler systems and control systems.
Upgrading control systems and other system components.
Commissioning new and retrofitted boiler systems.
Commissioning and troubleshooting of E-PowerPack and OceanGlide.
General crew information and training.
Tasks often come at short notice and varies in frequency, content, and location.
It is a requirement that you have a valid health certificate for seafarers (blue book) to be sent out on assignments.
If you’re interested in being a marine engineer intern with us, we can consider offering the opportunity to stay in the company apartment during the internship period.
