Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water, and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the job

As our new Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting Alfa Laval’s Boiler Retrofit & Repair business across international markets. This is an entry-level to early-career position designed for candidates with a marine technical background who are eager to learn about sales, business development, and customer support.

You will work closely with experienced colleagues and receive structured training in our products, tools, and sales processes. Over time, you will develop the ability to provide technical and commercial support that helps our sales teams succeed.

Your primary tasks and responsibilities are:

  • Area sales and support responsible for the Alfa Laval retrofit & repair business.

  • Provide lean and fast technical sales support to Alfa Laval Sales Companies globally

  • Contribute to the development of market plans and assist in executing business opportunities

  • Help maintain and grow business relationships with sales companies and internal stakeholders

  • Translate technical knowledge into clear and practical input for front-end sales situations

  • Assist in conducting sales training and supporting development of drivers and sales specialists

  • Support internal awareness initiatives for products and upcoming launches

  • Help prepare quotations, technical documentation, and project handovers according to customer needs

Business travel is expected, approximately 15 - 30 days per year.

Who you are

You have a commercial mindset that you can leverage effectively in a sales process. Your outgoing and proactive nature allows you to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while consistently meeting your deadlines. You understand the importance of continuously pushing for action and find it easy to maintain and establish new relationships, both internally and externally.

What you know

You bring a solid marine technical foundation and the motivation to develop a career in inside sales. Prior experience is a plus, but your willingness to learn and curiosity are equally important.

Key requirements:

  • Marine Engineer or similar technical background within the marine industry

  • Newly graduated or candidates with a few years of relevant experience are welcome

  • Practical exposure to the marine industry (e.g., sailing, ship operations, service, or technical roles)

  • Interest in commercial work, sales support, and customer-facing activities

  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

  • Willingness to travel internationally when needed

Experience with Marine Boiler Technologies is a plus, but training will be provided.
