About the job

We are looking for a visionary and strategic leader who thrives at the intersection of innovation, sustainability, and commercial growth. As Strategic Business Development Manager – Pharma, you will play a pivotal role shaping Alfa Laval’s direction within Life Science, drive growth, and position us as a market leader. You will be responsible for driving growth and strategic initiatives within the Life Science and Pharmaceutical sectors.

This pivotal role demands a visionary leader who can craft and execute industry strategies, drive business development, and position Alfa Laval as a front-runner in innovation and sustainability. The role requires someone who has a deep understanding of industry trends, regulatory environments, and customer needs to develop and execute effective business strategies.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and lead the Pharma industry strategy across the Division, ensuring alignment with our Business Units and overall strategic direction.

  • Translate strategic goals into actionable business and tactical plans, and drive the implementation of key initiatives across the organization.

  • Own and align the divisional Business Plan for Pharma, defining and prioritizing activities to achieve long-term growth.

  • Drive the commercial strategy for sustainability-focused offerings and represent Alfa Laval as a thought leader in the Pharma space.

  • Monitor industry trends, map market potential, and identify new opportunities for business expansion and portfolio development.

  • Strengthening customer engagement by capturing needs, driving co-creation, and ensuring the Voice of the Customer informs internal decision-making.

  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to build a unified industry approach, enhance our value proposition, and spot innovation disruptors or potential acquisitions.

As a professional, you’re a recognized leader in the Life Science industry, with a strong network and a deep understanding of both its challenges and opportunities. You have a sharp commercial mindset and a passion for technology, while you naturally bridge the gap between innovation and business success.

Your approach is data-driven and analytical, yet you’re also a creative thinker - always looking for new, smart solutions to complex problems. You thrive in customer-focused environments, where your ability to communicate and present ideas clearly makes a lasting impact. Collaboration comes naturally to you. What you know

To thrive in this role, we believe you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, PhD) preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Life Science or Pharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record in business development, sales, or strategic planning.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Leadership and team management experience.
