We are looking for a Manager for the Mechanical Engineering team in our Engineering department, in Power & Offshore & Cruise organization. As a manager, you will lead a team of mechanical engineers and specialists, ensuring excellence in design and execution for global boiler and waste heat recovery system deliveries. We expect you to have the ability to lead and support the most experienced experts in the house and, together with them, develop existing processes even further.
As a Manager in Mechanical Engineering, your key responsibilities are:
Team leadership
Lead and develop the Mechanical Engineering team, fostering collaboration and technical excellence
Ensure mechanical design quality and compliance with customer requirements, standards, and classification needs (EN, ASME, DNV, etc.)
Drive continuous improvement in design processes, tools, and methodologies
Master Planning & Sales support
Actively participate in master planning sessions and hour estimations to optimize resource allocation, project timelines and hour budgeting in collaboration with Sales.
Assign engineers to projects based on resource planning, individual competencies and project requirements.
Drive and develop short term resource planning.
Project follow-up
Coordinate mechanical engineering activities across projects, working closely with Sales, Technology, Procurement and other stakeholders.
Monitor workload, project budgeting and report key project metrics periodically.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Apply a continuous improvement mindset
Your profile:
Proven experience in designing, developing and managing tailorized products
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team
Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Ability to drive process improvements and efficiency
Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with good communication skills
