About the job

Project Manager

  • Suisio
  • Full time

Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

Position Purpose & Location

The position is a senior-level technical management role based at the Alfa Laval Olmi facility in Suisio (BG).

As a Project Manager, your main objective is to lead the end-to-end execution of highly engineered, custom-built mechanical products, such as high-pressure shell-and-tube heat exchangers and air coolers. In this role, you will bridge the gap between engineering design and workshop production, serving as the central point of contact for project planning, interdepartmental coordination, and client communication. This role requires solid experience in handling heavy manufacturing and complex product engineering, rather than standard consumer goods.

Main Responsibilities:

In this role, you will lead Order Management by overseeing the execution of complex engineered orders from contract award through to manufacturing, assembly, testing, and final delivery. You will act as the primary Corporate Interface between the engineering office, the production workshop, procurement, and quality departments to ensure alignment on specifications and timelines.

For Client Relations, you will manage direct communications, project updates, and technical coordination with international clients and stakeholders. Additionally, you will provide Technical Oversight for projects dealing with sophisticated engineering designs, complex technical drawings, highly specialized materials, and precise welding requirements, while managing Risk Management to monitor milestones and implement corrective actions on the shop floor.

Core Operational Activities

Your daily routine will require balancing hybrid options with a strong operational presence. While hybrid remote work options are supported, close proximity to the Suisio (BG) facility is preferred to ensure a consistent, active presence alongside the production lines during critical assembly phases. Your activities will focus on bridging the office and the shop floor to handle heavy manufacturing constraints and technical risks as they arise.

Requirements & Compensation

Education:

University Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Energy, Management, or related disciplines).

A Master’s degree is not required, as priority is given to practical experience.

Experience:

Minimum of 6 years of solid experience in a project management or project engineering role within a heavy machinery or complex product manufacturing company.

Technical Background:

A strong technical foundation with direct experience working with engineering departments, technical drawings, specialized fabrication (welding, metallurgy), and shop-floor manufacturing processes.

LanguagesFluent written and spoken English is essential for client relations, engineering documentation, and daily collaboration.

Salary & Arrangement

Salary range starts from 40,000 EUR upwards (commensurate with actual experience), with a work arrangement favoring close proximity to the Suisio (BG) plant.Position Purpose & Location
