About the job

Account Representative

  • Kenosha
  • Full time

Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the job

The Account Representative will independently manage and nurture client accounts, focusing on relationship building, problem-solving, and proactive service. This role requires strong decision-making skills, attention to detail and an ability to handle aspects of inside sales, logistics, order management, and troubleshooting to ensure customer satisfaction and business efficiency.

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external customers. Act as the main point of contact for assigned accounts, fostering trust and proactive communication.

  • Oversee the entire order process from quotation through delivery, including order entry, tracking, and timely follow-up. Ensure accuracy in data entry and manage any adjustments as needed to meet customer requirements.

  • Generate quotations and provide product recommendations based on customer needs. Drive sales by identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities within account management.

  • Collaborate with warehouses and logistics teams to ensure timely product delivery and resolve any shipment-related issues. Track orders and proactively address any potential delivery delays or disruptions.

  • Resolve customer issues effectively, utilizing analytical and critical thinking skills. Provide solutions that minimize impact to both the client and the organization.

  • Meet or exceed defined performance metrics, including response time, order accuracy, and customer satisfaction scores. Document interactions and updates in CRM systems (e.g., One4All, Anytime) and generate reports as needed.

  • Anticipate client needs and address potential concerns before they arise. Regularly check in with accounts to provide updates, gather feedback, and adjust support as needed.

We care about diversity, inclusion and equity in our recruitment processes. We also believe behavioral traits can provide important insights into a candidate's fit to a role. To help us achieve this we apply Pymetrics assessments, and upon application you will be invited to play the assessment games.

What you know:

You have a High School Diploma or equivalency, and:

  • Proven experience in customer service, inside sales, account management, or a similar role, ideally within a corporate or warehouse/logistics environment.

  • Proficiency in order management systems and CRM software.

  • High attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Strong decision-making abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective relationship management.

What’s in it for you?

We offer a challenging position in an open and friendly environment where we help each other to develop and create value. Your work will have a true impact on Alfa Laval’s future success. Our benefits-eligible associates enjoy healthcare, dental and vision plans, a robust wellness program, generous 401(k), paid holidays, paid time off benefits, and more. At Alfa Laval, we carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine your total compensation package. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job, background, skills, and experience to get it right.  The hourly rate for this role is typically $23.50-$27.00/hr.

Alfa Laval is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce. All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, or business need, without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
