About the job…

The Inside Sales Specialist is responsible for selling Alfa Laval transactional products and services within the assigned area of responsibility and providing direct support to customers.

This is a hybrid position located in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities include:

  • Be responsible for managing designated customer accounts in the Southeast Region and channels.
  • Follow established sales processes and guidelines to promote and sell Alfa Laval Products and services.
  • Look for and manage leads from the market to convert them into real business opportunities, growing and securing the projects pipeline.
  • Analyze and understand market insights and the customers’ buying behavior and make sales plans according to the business division strategy and targets.
  • Develop transactional, complex and value-service quotes for the GPHE Equipment Service Team reflecting the customer needs stressing the unique selling points.
  • Actively follow up the quote in order to understand if the proposed value is understood and if it matches the customer’s needs.
  • Provide direct support to customers during the quotation process with advanced technical support.
  • Use the CRM tool and other tools in a consistent and qualitative way, to support the sales process and take decisions.
  • Drive, implement and coordinate improvement projects that increase team efficiency.
  • Travel up to 25%.

What you know:

  • Engineering/ Business Major graduate having robust experience of handling quotations and customer communication.
  • Prioritizing and managing multiple short-term tasks.
  • Technical problem solving.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience; preferred within the following industries: Process equipment suppliers to the dairy, food, or pharmaceutical processing industries. Dairy, food, oil & gas, mining, datacenters, refrigeration, HVAC, or pharmaceutical processors (end-users).
  • Strong customer service orientation and sense of urgency.
  • You demonstrate Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are your strengths.
  • You have an ability to express ideas clearly both in written and verbal formats.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up skillset.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Email systems, specifically strong excel skills.
  • Teamwork and team player.

What’s in it for you?

At Alfa Laval, we carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine your total compensation package. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job, background, skills, and experience to get it right.  The base salary for this role is typically $75,000.00 to $85,000.00
