Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the job

We are looking for a solution-oriented Project Manager with an engineering background and proven hands-on experience in running customer projects. You will be responsible for overseeing projects and sub-projects involving decanter centrifuges, rotary drum thickening and dewatering systems such as Alfa Laval Aldrum, and other core wastewater-treatment technologies, with varying levels of complexity and business impact. The role has a strong focus on managing internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and subcontractors.

  • Lead and manage external projects, taking full ownership of projects involving customers, vendors, and partners, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Develop project plans specific to decanter, Aldrum, and other core technology projects and coordinate with different stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely and quality delivery.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks associated with decanter, Aldrum, and other core technology projects, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Manage changes, also the small ones, to the project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Oversee the installation to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that projects meet performance and reliability standards.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Proactively resolve challenges and develop practical solutions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure clear and timely communication throughout the project lifecycle.

At Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, providing you the flexibility to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. This position is at our Copenhagen office, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 20 – 30 days per year.

What you know

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience managing customer-facing B2B projects in an engineering, industrial, or technical environment, with a strong track record of successfully delivering projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing customers, external stakeholders, vendors, and subcontractors is essential.
  • Experience with decanter centrifuges, rotary drum thickeners/dewatering systems such as Alfa Laval Aldrum, or other wastewater-treatment technologies is an advantage.

Who you are

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager with the ability to inspire and guide diverse stakeholders. As a strong communicator and forward-thinking problem solver, you can effectively navigate cross-functional teams and foster collaboration among various parties. You are adaptable, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and respond effectively to changes throughout the project lifecycle. Your commitment to accuracy and quality is evident, and your proactive approach helps anticipate challenges before they arise.
