Alfa Laval is looking for UX/UI Designer for IoT
Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping. As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build careers too.
About the Role
As a UX/UI Designer in the Automation Development department, you will collaborate closely with our IoT team to design user-focused interfaces and experiences for connected devices, ensuring smooth and intuitive interactions within IoT ecosystems.
Key responsibilities for this include
Wireframing and Prototyping: Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to effectively communicate design ideas and user flows.
UI Design: Design visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces that align with our brand guidelines and enhance the user experience.
UX Design: Gathering and refining requirements to identify user needs, translating them into actionable designs such as user flows, journey maps, and feature analyses. Utilizing research methods and data to guide user-centered solutions.
Collaboration: Work closely with senior designers, product owners, developers, and other team members to ensure a user-centered design approach.
Documentation: Maintain and update design documentation, style guides, and design systems to ensure consistency across the platform.
IoT experience: Addressing the unique challenges of IoT systems, such as interoperability, data visualization, and hardware constraints, to deliver user-friendly interactions with connected devices.
What you know
You have a bachelor´s or master´s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field combined with 3-5 years of experience in UX/UI design, preferably with some exposure to IIoT or industrial applications. We trust you are proficient in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar. Fluency in English both written and spoken is a must for this role.
Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and fluency in any other Nordic languages is a plus
Who you are
As a person you are proactive and driven. You enjoy delivering high quality work and have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and independently. You are a true team player and always keen in supporting when it comes to reaching common goals.
What’s in it for you?
We offer a challenging position in an open and friendly environment where we help each other to develop and create value. Your work will have a true impact on Alfa Laval’s future success.
