About the job…
In this role, the Shop Foreman responsibilities include enforcing safety regulations and supervising staff throughout the year. You will work directly with factory employees to ensure key factory performance metrics are achieved including safety, delivery on time, production quality and continuous improvement through the Alfa Laval Production System (ALPS) methods and tools.
This is an onsite position located in Newburyport, MA.
Responsibilities include:
Implement strategies to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.
Daily management of production progress versus production plan; Make necessary adjustments as needed to meet delivery on time goals.
Ensure quality targets are achieved daily through people development and machine reliability.
Pursue full implementation of ALPS, DSB implementation.
Act as the local communication link between the factory/site and the ALPS Central Team (ALPS CET).
Meet with management to deliver feedback and develop work optimization strategies.
Enforce safety regulations and protocols.
Conduct performance reviews with staff.
Ensure that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained to ensure machine reliability and delivery on time goals.
Establish clear priorities; schedules activities to ensure optimum use of time and resources; monitors performance against objectives.
What you know:
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelors in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field preferred.
Proven work experience within a manufacturing or industrial production environment. 5 years or more of experience preferred with prior leadership or supervisory experience highly preferred.
Experience managing shop operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control preferred.
A strong understanding of work optimization techniques.
Good knowledge of applicable safety regulations and procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
LSS Green Belt or higher; Passionate pursuit of continuous improvement (training can be provided to achieve these certifications if not currently certified).
