Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build careers too.
Background
At Alfa Laval, our technologies aim to enhance sustainability in industry through improved energy efficiency, reduced emissions, and innovative heat transfer solutions. Efficient thermal performance is a key enabler of the energy transition, and our R&D organization plays a central role in developing reliable and high-performing technologies for real-world applications.
About the role
As a Test Engineer R&D, you will contribute to the experimental development and validation of Brazed & Fusion Bonded Heat Exchangers, with a specific focus on two-phase applications. You will be part of a dedicated R&D laboratory team of eight people, composed of experienced Senior Test Engineers, Test Engineers, and a Thermal Data Analyst, working together with complementary and well-defined expertise. Within this collaborative environment, you will support laboratory testing activities, data collection, and analysis, while learning from senior colleagues and interacting closely with Thermal Specialists, Technology Development teams, and Sales. This role offers hands-on exposure to structured laboratory work and provides a solid foundation for technical growth within a multidisciplinary R&D setting that directly connects product development with customer and market needs.
Key responsibilities for this role entail:
Perform checks, maintenance, and calibration of measurement probes.
Monitor heat exchanger test processes and performance.
Participate in daily and weekly meetings to track activities and address improvements.
Support SOP development with the Team Leader and Lab Manager.
Build strong knowledge of lab processes and tools.
Drive waste reduction and continuous improvement.
Act as a reference for test execution and sequence optimization.
Assist team members with troubleshooting when needed.
Support installation and removal of heat exchangers.
Help maintain a positive and organized work environment.
What you know:
Technical education (secondary school or bachelors) in Electrical Engineering or similar
3+ years of experience as Test Engineer or similar
Certified training in electrical safety (PES–PAV).
Basic proficiency in standard office software and digital tools.
Good understanding of SOPs and team processes.
Knowledge of refrigeration systems and related technologies.
Fluent English both written and spoken
Who you are
You have strong structure and analytical thinking, naturally inclined towards troubleshooting. Your great teamwork and independent work capabilities are remarkable. With a positive approach, effective communication, and a firm commitment to finishing tasks, you make a significant impact. You take responsibility and thrive in both practical and theoretical tasks.
