About the job

At Alfa Laval we are seeking a Supply Manager, that will be part of global sourcing team. In this position you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless performance of our supply chain. You will drive improvement projects with our suppliers based on sustainability, quality, lead time or cost improvements.

 The main responsibilities will include: 

  • Closely monitor supplier performance in collaboration with Operational Buyers. 
  • Drive containment actions and secure escalations according to the PIM process. 
  • Analyze supplier performance based on established processes. 
  • Initiate and drive corrective actions related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost improvements.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of the Replenishment Process based on input from the Replenishment Process and Follow Up Process.  
  • Prepare and manage requests for quotation
  • Present bid analysis and recommend supplier based on technical and commercial decisions
  • Identify, qualify, and audit potential new suppliers to support all business units across the globe.
  • Implementing new or improved supply chain processes to improve efficiency or performance
  • Identifying, managing, and minimizing risks that could affect the supply chain
  •  Considering the environmental impact of the supply chain

This is a hybrid position located in Houston, TX. With travel requirement of up to 50%.

What you know:

As a person you are a driven, structured individual with great communication skills. You are sociable and flexible with the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new conditions and customer needs, and you have:   

  • A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field. 
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish & English are a must
  • Minimum 8 years of proven experience in supply chain roles and performance management
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with supply development tools 
  • Excellent communication abilities. 
  • Ability to drive change and lead corrective actions effectively 
  • Has manufacturing experience with metal work industry with proven knowledge of fabrication processes, materials, specifications
  • Has experience with indirect spend categories is a plus.
  • Technical knowledge to read and understand prints and specifications       
  • Strategic thinking, with a strong business and negotiation acumen
  • Willingness and ability to travel up 25% in USA and up to 25% in México.
  • Supplier auditing background a plus.  Will train if missing that background.

What’s in it for you?

At Alfa Laval, we carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine your total compensation package. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job, background, skills, and experience to get it right.  The base salary for this role is typically $100,000 to $115,000.
