About the job 

We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Export Control & Trade Sanctions Specialist to join our team!  

In this pivotal role, you will drive and enhance our global export control and trade sanctions processes, ensuring compliance from quote to shipment. You’ll play a key part in supporting best practice for product classification, partner screening, and the continuous improvement of our compliance framework and procedures. Your expertise will help translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable initiatives, develop and deliver engaging training, and support our teams across jurisdictions and business functions. 

What You’ll Do:  

• Drive Export Control and Trade Sanctions processes and best practice, including product classification, partner screening and due diligence, and compliance from quote to shipment.  

• Contribute to the development and governance of product creation and export control product classification processes, driving continuous improvement in product classification.  

• Translate regulatory requirements into actionable initiatives, creating, monitoring, and coordinating continuous improvement of compliance procedures.  

• Develop, implement, and deliver training materials to ensure engagement, understanding, and adherence to regulatory requirements and Alfa Laval’s internal governing framework.  

• Identify friction points and drive best practices for compliance implementation across business functions and organizations.  

• Monitor progress and support the implementation of new ways of working, ensuring alignment with Alfa Laval’s present and future IT landscape.  

• Act as the main contact and support function for Export Control Super Users, providing guidance on sanctions assessment, due diligence findings, screening results, and other related queries.  

• Serve as the speaking partner between Business Units, Sales Organizations, Product Owners, Sourcing, and Supply Chain value streams to identify touch points, prioritize actions, and drive implementation. 

• Develop, coordinate, and monitor continuous improvement actions within Export Control Product Classification and Export Control & Trade Sanctions processes. 

• Support capability building and bring clarity to the regulatory framework across the organization.

What We’re Looking For:

• +3 years of experience within export control and trade sanctions or related disciplines 

• Proven records of working in international organizations within the area of compliance 

• Proven experience to easily understand technical drawings and efficiently work implementing legal requirements into actionable initiatives – and driving those from start to an end 

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
