4, Chalon-sur-Saône, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, France, 71100
Full time
Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers, and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water, and shipping.
As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.
About the job
You’ll be the HRBP for our Chalon-sur-Saône factory and partner with a business unit-wide, cross-functional team (e.g., R&D, Service, Sales) at a global scale. You’ll drive the people’s agenda, strengthen culture, and run core HR operations in close collaboration with our HR Shared Service Center and global HR network. Key responsibilities include:
Factory Scope
Serve as a trusted partner to the Factory Manager and site leaders as part of the Factory Management Team
Drive the people plan for the factory (organization, resources, competencies, Inclusion & Diversity)
Lead annual HR cycles (performance, Compensation & Benefits, talent management, etc.)
Maintain effective and solution-oriented labor relations
Lead on-site communications and employer branding
Run Group/Division/BU projects within your area of responsibility
Support career development for factory employees
Business Unit function scope (global)
Partner closely with the Heads of Function and managers to build and drive the people & culture plan aligned with business, global, and BU strategies
Guide and align people and culture plans for the function in close collaboration with the HR Business Partner team
Lead initiatives with business leaders to improve performance, develop and retain talent, and support succession planning with a strong focus on upskilling and team development
Develop leadership capabilities and proactively challenge the organization to ensure agility, effectiveness, and alignment with strategic business priorities.
At Alfa Laval, we offer a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility to work from home when suitable for your tasks. Some travel, primarily within France and occasionally abroad, will be required, especially in connection with your cross-functional responsibilities.
What you know
Extensive experience as an HR Generalist within manufacturing environments and/or business/R&D functions.
Proven ability to partner with, coach, influence, and constructively challenge managers on leadership effectiveness and organizational topics.
A hands-on, versatile approach—equally at ease on the shop floor and in high-level management discussions.
Strong motivation to drive business and factory performance through people, culture, and organizational development.
Fluent in English (corporate language) and French, both written and spoken.
A degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
Who are you
You excel at building trust across all levels and bring an inclusive, solution-oriented mindset to everything you do. With a hands-on approach, you move initiatives forward and navigate complex, evolving environments with confidence. You’ve shown resilience in driving through implementation, even when facing headwinds. You communicate with clarity and impact, foster strong relationships, and influence decisions effectively. Proactive, self-driven, and creative, you pair your initiative with a structured way of working that ensures meaningful results. Above all, you bring a deep passion for shaping culture and exploring new, progressive ways of working.
