About the job
The Competency Development Intern will support the Competency Manager in designing, enhancing, and delivering training programs for the Hygienic Fluid Handling (HFH) and Food Heat Transfer (FHT) product lines, with a strong focus on applications within the Hygienic industry. This internship offers hands‑on experience in training development, process documentation, cross‑functional collaboration, and technical product learning.
You will work closely with multiple HFH/FHT teams, gaining exposure to real projects while developing skills essential for future roles in competency development, training, or technical support.
This is a role based in Kenosha, WI.
As a part of the team, you will:
Support the Competency Manager in developing new training programs for HFH/FHT product lines, particularly those used in the Hygienic industry.
Assist in creating and updating training plans, training presentations, and learning materials.
Help facilitate Channel training programs, including preparation, coordination, and content support.
Create SOPs and process maps to document workflows and standardize training processes.
Develop key skills essential for competency development roles, including instructional design, documentation, and communication.
Conduct research, record data, and support training initiatives with accurate information.
Attend meetings with HFH and FHT teams to understand ongoing projects, training needs, and product applications.
Collaborate on various cross‑functional projects across HFH/FHT.
Build product knowledge related to HFH/FHT solutions used in the Hygienic industry.
Develop a professional network with colleagues, mentors, and leaders that may support future career opportunities.
What You Know:
You are a current undergraduate college student, preferably a rising junior or senior, pursuing a degree in Engineering, Business, Training & Development, Industrial Technology, Communications, or a related field, and you bring:
Strong interest in training, competency development, or technical learning programs
Ability to research, analyze, and organize information into clear summaries or documentation
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail when documenting processes, creating SOPs, or recording data
Ability to work independently and within a team while managing multiple tasks
Curiosity and willingness to learn about HFH/FHT product lines and the Hygienic industry
Comfort participating in meetings and engaging with cross‑functional teams
Motivation to build professional skills that support future roles in training or technical development

These considerations can cause your compensation to vary and will also be dependent on your location. The hourly rate for this role is $20 to $27 USD per hour.
